Í föstudagsfyrirlestri tónlistardeildar LHÍ 23. september mun fiðluleikarinn Aisha Orazbayeva fjalla um og flytja verk sem hafa skipt sköpum í þróun fiðluleiks á síðustu áratugum. Verkin sem um ræðir eru Toccatina eftir Lachenmann, 6 Caprices eftir Sciarrino og Study for String Instrument no.1 eftir Simon Steen-Andersen.

Aisha Orazbayeva kemur svo fram á tónleikum í Mengi kl. 21:00 samdægurs.

In this open seminar Kazakh violinist Aisha Orazbayeva will talk about and demonstrate pieces that radically change our perception of the instrument including Lachenmann’s 'Toccatina', Sciarrino’s ‘6 Caprices’ and Simon Steen-Anderesen’s 'Study for String Instrument no.1'.
Rather than simply demonstrating extended playing techniques she will discuss the more profound musical implications of unconventional and non-idiomatic sound making. She will then draw upon her recent project of playing the Telemann "Fantasias for Violin" using techniques taken from contemporary violin repertoire.

Aisha Orazbayeva is a Kazakh-born London-based violinist with an interest in filmmaking.
