    The photographs are derived from satellite images of three nuclear test sites: Maralinga in Australia, Nevada in the U.S. and Semipalatinsk in Kazakhstan Such territories have often been considered so-called \u201eshadow-places\u201c \u201c 7 remote and seemingly uninhabited and empty, which is far from the truth The work highlights a parallel between nuclear radiation and the production of photographs in a darkroom, with both processes being activated by means of light, leaving dangerous remains.<\/p>\n

    Each figure is double One half is induced with conventional chemicals, while the other with chemicals collected in nature A safety light above the work refers both to the darkroom and to a warning signal.<\/p>\n

    These prints are derived from satellite images of three nuclear test sites: Maralinga, Australia, Nevada, USA, and Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan Such landscapes have often been protected as \u201eshadow places\u201c, remote and seemingly empty. The work draws a parallel between nuclear exposure and darkroom photographic exposure, where both register through light and leave hazardous residues.<\/p>\n

    Each print is divided. One half is developed chemically, the other with a plant-based developer made from foraged materials. A safety above evokes both the space of image-making in the dark room and a distant warning signal<\/p>\n
