    With the forms and romantic softness of filigree in mind, I developed the typeface Spiral, inspired by the curves and spirals characteristic of filigree patterns. The result is unconventional and even somewhat strange. File free is rooted in ancient craftship. Silver threads and wires are twisted together and shaped to form beautiful patterns and forms. The project is presented in two printed works: one showing the typeface and its design process, the other focusing on the research, exploring the history of filigree, the Icelandic national costume, and related tradition.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
