B.Mus. Singing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margr\u00e9t Bj\u00f6rk Da\u00f0ad\u00f3ttir began her singing career at the age of 13 in Langholt Church's Graduale Choir under the direction of J\u00f3n Stef\u00e1nsson. In the fall of 2015, she began studying at the Singing School in Reykjav\u00edk under the guidance of Harpa Har\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir and H\u00f3lmfr\u00ed\u00f0ar Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir, where she completed her advanced degree. She began studying singing at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in the fall of 2022 with Hanna D\u00f3ra Sturlud\u00f3ttir, Kristni Sigmundsson, D\u00edsella L\u00e1rusd\u00f3ttir and Matthilda Anna G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir. Last fall, she went as an exchange student to the Royal Academy of Music in The Hague, where she studied under the guidance of Amand Hekker. In June of the same year, she received a grant from Vilhj\u00e1lm Vilhj\u00e1lmsson's Memorial Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margr\u00e9t Bj\u00f6rk has performed as a soloist with the Choir of Langholt Church, including in Handel's Dixit Dominus and Bach's G minor Mass under the direction of Magn\u00fas Ragnarsson. In the fall of 2018, Margr\u00e9t Bj\u00f6rk sang in the youth choir of the Icelandic Opera in the show H\u00e4nsel und Gretel by Humperdinck and in the spring of 2023 she sang in the Choir of the Icelandic Opera in the opera's production of Madama Butterfly by Puccini. In the fall of 2023, Margr\u00e9t Bj\u00f6rk took part in the project Look at the Music with Art Across under the direction of Stefan Sand, where music was produced for both hearing and deaf and the work was performed both abroad. The project was nominated for the incentive award of the selection committee for outstanding innovation in the performing arts at the Gr\u00edmu Awards 2024. Margr\u00e9t Bj\u00f6rk also sang in the opera BR\u00cdM by Fri\u00f0rik-Gu\u00f0mundar and Adolf Unmarsson in the spring of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
