Then I studied piano, but I then moved to classical guitar two years later“, says Gunnar Ingi.

In his teenage years, he started in his first band and then started creating music with friends and he hasn't stopped since.

„I then moved south in 2014 to study electric guitar in FÍH, but I also started in a band here in the south at the same time, and then I was working in the instrument store Rín “", says Gunnar, who started studying at the music department of LHÍ in 2019 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in rhythmic instrument teaching in the spring of 2022.

„Initially, I enrolled at LHÍ because I needed a change in my life. But at the time, it was either moving abroad and applying for a job as a music teacher or first going to a music teacher's program. I voted for the latter and couldn't be more satisfied with that decision“, Gunnar says, but he decided to continue his studies after his bachelor's degree.

„I enrolled so directly in a master's program in vocal and instrumental education after graduation, as I wasn't quite willing to be done with school then. “ Gunnar Ingi says, I immediately experienced when I started at LHÍ that here students are not just numbers on paper, but characters that are very important to the school just as the school matters to us students.

„I've made a lot of friends and acquaintances through school and it's not limited only to students but also teachers and administrators. “ It's probably one of the strongest things this school offers is this positive learning environment where teachers, administrators and students communicate well with each other and respect each other. "

Gunnar Ingi aims to graduate in the spring semester, but he decided to take the MT route in the program, i.e. graduate from the master's program with a master's degree and teaching license, but without working on a final project and instead taking more courses.

„I decided to take the MT route as it suits me much better. I will use the study for the music teacher job, but a lot of what I learn at LHÍ is also useful to me in my own music creation and work“, says Gunnar, but there are exciting times ahead for the future music teacher.

„I've hired myself as a music teacher in Blönduós next winter and I'm really looking forward to starting working as a full-time music teacher.“ Along with that, I'm also going to release more music with my bands Skyfolk and Proxanity."

[115
187,188
109

post-9990","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-frettir","tag-listkennsla","tag-song-og-hljodfaerakennsla","departmens_cat-listkennsludeild
["GET
