Design Congress<\/span> 2026 <\/span>went<\/span> forward<\/span> the days<\/span> 25.-26. <\/span>september<\/span> \u00e1 <\/span>H\u00fasav\u00edk<\/span> but<\/span> the festival<\/span> was <\/span>now<\/span> held<\/span> \u00ed <\/span>fourth<\/span> sinn<\/span>. <\/span>Students in <\/span>product design<\/span> we<\/span> LH\u00cd<\/span> Iceland<\/span> took<\/span> episode<\/span> \u00ed <\/span>the festival<\/span> there<\/span> which<\/span> emphasis<\/span> is <\/span>laid<\/span> \u00e1 <\/span>design<\/span>, <\/span>innovation<\/span> and<\/span> energy<\/span>. <\/span>The program<\/span> was <\/span>diverse<\/span> and<\/span> together <\/span>stood<\/span> off<\/span> lectures<\/span>, <\/span>presentations<\/span> and<\/span> events<\/span> wide<\/span> about <\/span>the town<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00c1 <\/span>while<\/span> \u00e1\u00a0the stay<\/span> stood<\/span> won<\/span> students<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span> own<\/span> projects<\/span> and<\/span> take advantage<\/span> the opportunity<\/span> to<\/span> that<\/span> fetch<\/span> lectures<\/span> and<\/span> presentations<\/span>. Kristin Malmquist, <\/span>student<\/span> \u00e1 <\/span>another<\/span> year<\/span> \u00ed <\/span>product design<\/span>, <\/span>says<\/span> the festival<\/span> have<\/span> gone<\/span> well<\/span> forward<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201e<\/span>Us students<\/span> offered<\/span> that<\/span> fetch<\/span> various<\/span> lectures<\/span> and<\/span> events<\/span> but<\/span> were<\/span>m<\/span> parallel<\/span> because<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span> tend<\/span> our<\/span> own<\/span> projects<\/span>.\u201c <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

\u201eSay Less, Do More\u201c<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The result of product design students was the exhibition <\/span>Say Less, Do More <\/span><\/i>which was set up in the Whale Museum in H\u00fasav\u00edk. Among other things, the research work of the groups was on display, which developed at the same time during their stay. Then the students used the trip to get to know the community in H\u00fasav\u00edk, which led the group to, among other things, Hvammi, a residential home for the elderly, where, according to Krist\u00edna, interesting discussions about art and design took place.<\/span>\u00a0\u201eAt the Design Congress, there was an opportunity to meet people on the same wavelength as yourself, and our project was largely based on a conversation with the residents of H\u00fasav\u00edk\u201c.\u201c <\/span>The stay was therefore not only about the final result, but also about conversations, research and relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

New environment and new relationships<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Kolbeinn Tumi, a first-year student in product design, says the project work was in the foreground, but that the community in H\u00fasav\u00edk and the atmosphere in the town in the run-up to the Design Congress were very important. \u201eI feel that I have learned a whole lot from the presence in H\u00fasav\u00edk both from the speakers but also from the instructors who were in the area and always willing to give a helping hand\u201c, says Kolbeinn Tumi. He also says that working in a new environment in the presence of fellow students and other professionals has had an impact: \u201eBeing around fellow students and other professionals for almost a week in a new environment has both aligned us as a student group but also developed us as a designer\u201c Krist\u00edn Malmquist takes the same line and says the stay has given students the opportunity to spend more time together and strengthen the cohesion of the group. She describes the trip as \u201ea good life experience that goes into the experience and memory bank\u201c.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
