The work St\u00f6ng - (End)interpretation by SP(R)INT STUDIO, which Sahar Ghaderi, associate professor and professional director at LH\u00cd, and Karl Kvaran, part-time teacher at the school are behind, has received 1st place in the category Project of the year in sustainable reuse or improvement<\/strong> (e. Best Sustainable Adaptive Reuse or Renovation Project of the Year) at Architizer A+Awards 2026.<\/p>\n

Architizer A+Awards is one of the world's largest architecture awards, reaching over 400 million people Award winners are selected by a jury of architects, designers and leaders from the cultural and professional world Over thousands of projects from architectural firms in over 80 countries participate.<\/p>\n

This is a design and superstructure of the excavation of antiquities from the settlement period at St\u00f6ng in \u00dej\u00f3rs\u00e1rdal. The project is carried out in collaboration with the architectural firm SP(R)INT STUDIO and the Icelandic Heritage Foundation.<\/p>\n

For this, the St\u00f6ng project has received nominations for the 2025 Iceland Design Award, the Dezeen Awards, the Archello Awards and the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award for outstanding contemporary architecture in Europe. The work was also awarded the Green Shovel 2025, awarded by Green Settlement for the best reconstruction of the year.<\/p>\n
