The conference Hugarflug<\/strong> took place at the Iceland University of the Arts last weekend and was entitled Unstable Systems\/\/Unstable Systems<\/strong>. The theme attracted a lot of attention and discussed how instability can be a driving force in art, design and architecture. Researchers, artists and scholars came together to examine how instability - whether manifested in technological systems, ecosystems, social systems or sensory experiences - can open up new ways of creation and critical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instability was viewed as a force that can both disrupt dominant systems and create new norms The conference was a platform for diverse research and projects dealing with instability in different contexts - from artificial intelligence and interactive systems to societal transformations and political challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellen Johanne R\u00f8ed<\/strong>, Rector at Stockholm University of the Arts, gave the keynote lecture of the conference She is Professor of Film and Media Arts and leads the research project Image as Site<\/em>. R\u00f8ed has worked on the border between art, technology and ethical questions in artistic creation and has played a key role in the development of Nordic platforms for artistic and research work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 50 participants<\/strong> from around the world, talks were given at the conference and about 200 guests<\/strong> download it, which makes Hugarflug 2025 the most crowded conference to date<\/strong>. The Hugarflug Committee would like to thank all participants and guests for their excellent participation and reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
