Edda R\u00f3sa Gunnarsd\u00f3ttir, master's student in the art education department, is studying for an additional diploma in pedagogy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She is on a one-year course for teaching qualifications which is for people with master's degrees in subjects other than the arts but Edda R\u00f3sa has a bachelor's degree in pedagogy and education and an MA in parenting education and parenting advice, completing that course in June 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201eI have two boys born in 1997 and 1999 with my Scottish husband, I have lived in Scotland and got to know their culture\u201c, says Edda R\u00f3sa, who has also worked at Hjallast\u00e4stenn since 2002 in both kindergarten and primary school in various roles \u201eI have been taking care of the leisure activities and everything related to children and parents\u201c.\u201c<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

But what made her choose an art education department?<\/p>\n

\u201eMy friend Sif Gunnsteinsd\u00f3ttir went to the art education department a few years ago and was always doing such fun things with fun people. I thought then if I was ever going to take a teaching qualification, it would be at LH\u00cd\u201c, says Edda R\u00f3sa, who is happy with her choice.<\/p>\n

\u201eGreat learning, a fun approach to teaching, interesting and talented fellow students who come from all corners of the arts, knowledgeable and unconventional teachers with explosive energy and passion. There's some magic that artists possess\u201c.\u201c<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

When Edda R\u00f3sa is asked what is ahead for her, there are no answers.<\/p>\n

\u201eLive it from being in a 100% program with 100% work without getting a stomach ulcer. Enjoy the moments of study and work. Enjoy being a grandmother. Enjoy being a mother to young adults Enjoying that the day is getting longer That being said, ENJOY,\u201c Edda R\u00f3sa says, but she is important to pay close attention to her health and well-being.<\/p>\n

\u201eI'm going to enjoy as much as I can being in the program with fellow students and teachers and be in the present. \u201c After graduation, I'll have a license and a teacher's license that no one can argue with me about, and no one can punk in my rights. \u201e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Edda R\u00f3sa wants to support and work more with her parents and is trying to find a way to do this with the school she works at, after graduation.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe dream is to be in a lot of flexibility and create my own working hours If I could mix up parts of teaching with the youngest level, I love to currently teach my 8-9 year old girls, parts with parents and then there always needs to be room to create something I don't know what is\u201c<\/p>\n

\u201eI'm so glad LH\u00cd opened up for non-artists for the teaching qualification program at LH\u00cd and I'm also so happy that the tuition fees are the same as at UI and therefore not an obstacle to study. I want to thank for collaborating with fellow students and teachers Continue to create and ponder, great creative people!\u201c<\/p>\n
