There, seven contestants performed before a five-member jury and three winners remain. The jury consisted of Sigr\u00fan E\u00f0valdsd\u00f3ttir, violinist and chairman of the jury, Tryggvi M. Baldvinsson, artistic advisor to S\u00cd, Sigur\u00f0ur Bjarki Gunnarsson, cellist, Mathias Halvorsen, pianist and Gu\u00f0r\u00fan \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, singer.<\/p>\n<p>Young soloists is a joint project of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and LH\u00cd, but the winners of the competition have the opportunity to perform a solo at Harpa's Eldborg Field together with the Symphony Orchestra. Below you can see the names of the winners and the works they will perform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Bjargey Birgisd\u00f3ttir, violin<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor by Prokofiev<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Katr\u00edn Birna Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir, cello<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>The Rococo Variations Op. 33 by Tchaikovski<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Steinn V\u00f6lundur Halld\u00f3rsson, trombone<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Henri Tomasi<strong><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We sincerely congratulate the three winners on their success and look forward to seeing them on the big stage in Eldborg, but the concert will take place on April 25, 2025 at 19:30.
