The UNESCO Forum on Cultural and Art Education was held on Thursday, January 23, in the University of Iceland's Festival Hall The keynote speaker was Ron Davies Alvarez, the conductor of The Dream Orchestra based on the El Sistema methodology The speakers from the Department of Arts Education were Kristin Valsd\u00f3ttir<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> and Vigd\u00eds Gunnarsd\u00f3ttir<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> who told about the Art Train, a joint project of the art education department and Art for All<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, and then Mar\u00edanna D\u00fafa S\u00e6varsd\u00f3ttir, a master's student in the department who gave a talk on art education. The seminar was chaired by the Icelandic UNESCO Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Trade, the Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs, Art for All, the Art Education Department of the Iceland University of the Arts, the University of Iceland's Faculty of Education and the Icelandic Teachers' Association.<\/p>\n
