It is assumed that for a 60 ECTS unit project the grant amount is ISK 800 thousand and ISK 400 thousand for 30 ECTS credits. Applicants must pursue a master's studies at a recognized university, whether in Iceland or abroad, and the project must discuss or have a connection to Icelandic society.

The first allocation from RSG's master's student fund took place this spring, when two students received grants to conduct their research, on the one hand, on audience development in the performing arts and on the other hand, on the performance of Icelandic films in European markets. The results of the research were presented at the RSG seminar last June, where the practical value of student research was discussed. You can watch the seminar in its entirety and each talk individually RSG's Vimeo page. It is planned to present in a similar way the results of other studies that will be funded by the research center's master's student fund.

Research in this field can be based on different disciplines and various methodologies. Most branches of social sciences have a connection to the professional life of culture and creative industries. The following are examples of subjects related to RSG's research strategy, but the list is by no means exhaustive.

Export income from culture and creative industries (eg methodology, data and accessibility)

Artificial intelligence and its impact on creative industries (eg jobs that disappear and new jobs that are created, cultural impact for a small language area like Iceland, creative technology and changes in the production environment)

Unpaid work in culture and creative industries (eg volunteer work, payments and work exchange, etc.)

Working environment of artists (eg working hours, unpaid projects, purchases and conditions, working conditions)

The impact of culture and creative industries on innovation

The role of culture and creative industries in regional development

Interdisciplinary role of creative industries

We strongly encourage those interested to contact us if any questions arise.
