Last week, the exhibition Glitský, the graduation exhibition of students in bachelor's studies in architecture, design and art held in Reykjavík Art Museum, Hafnarhús, ended. The exhibition is one of the most visited exhibitions every year at Reykjavík Art Museum, and this year was no exception, as it was attended by close to 8000 visitors in total, of which well over two thousand on the opening day itself. The exhibition featured the graduation works of prospective architects, designers and visual artists, and there were 76 exhibitors.

In an address by Kristína Eysteinsdóttir, rector of the Iceland University of the Arts at the opening of the exhibition, it was stated, among other things, that “glit clouds are a conversation between beauty and destruction, Glitský contain the tension of opposing forces. The color glory of glitter clouds is very clear, they are bathed in sunshine in the dark. Their beauty is undisputed, but under their surface dangerous substances simmer. Glit clouds bend the sunlight, change our perception and that is exactly what our students do here today. Uncover new perspectives and bring down the tents of reality.”

At the opening of the exhibition, addresses were also given by the curator of Reykjavík Art Museum, Ólöf Kristín Sigurðardóttir, as well as Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Minister of University, Industry and Innovation.

Students showed their work where, among other things, they were involved in redefining the generational house, looking at the demonization of natural phenomena, investigating whether it is possible to make high fashion clothes from Icelandic wool without ever coming close to a sewing machine, experimenting with new technologies for visual communication and looking for the beauty in the fears of the present The projects reflect their learning, research and artistic creation in recent years The graduates face the challenges of our days ' - light and darkness, cold and warmth - and the result heralds news.

this year, the Iceland University of the Arts received as a gift a 3D and dot cloud scan of the BA graduate sample except ours 2024 at the initiative of Hermann Valsson, a photographer and systems scientist This is the first time this technology has been used in an exhibition in Iceland, where a BA graduation exhibition except LHÍ, lives in a digital world and a more detailed presentation of them is available on the school's website from the meaning of that dimensional images.

With this technology, not only 3D images are taken, but also the point cloud/ laser marking of the space, which awaits their further presentation on the school's website or during the students' work, and then in many languages upon request. Employeethe school adopted this use of punctual cloud markings and a reference from them to the school's website after Hermann's guidance.

We byListah university we would like to thank him for this good gift and kindnessLHÍ.
