In her work, Steinunn blurs the boundary painting, sculpture and installation. She experiments by exploring the dimensions of painting, allowing it to escape its two-dimensional flatness and become part of a three-dimensional environment. As a result, the works become a physical experience where one can walk around or even through them. Steinunn playfully spins associations between reality and staging and explanations themes, and destruction, and interpretation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-lg-12\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>The stone<\/strong> lives and works in Reykjav\u00edk. She completed a BA in graphic design in 2009 and a BA in Audiovisual in 2011, both from Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Exhibitions included Green Growth at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Non Plus Ultra at Reykjav\u00edk Art Museum, Feig\u00f0ar\u00f3s at Kling &amp; Bang and Sculpture Sculpture at K\u00f3pavogur Art Museum. Steinunn was nominated for the Icelandic Art Prize as Artist of the Year in 2022 along with Ragnhei\u00f0ur K\u00e1rad\u00f3ttir and Anna Hrund M\u00e1sd\u00f3ttir for the collaborative exhibition Feig\u00f0ar\u00f3s, and in 2019 she received the Svavar Gu\u00f0nason and \u00c1sta Eir\u00edksd\u00f3ttir grant for emerging artists.
