The exhibition „No one is an island“ is the result of a group project where students explore how Iceland could operate without connection to the outside world, using resources that are already available.

Students set themselves in the role of residents in surreal reality, framed by the conditions set up by Sigríður Hagalín Björnsdóttir in his well-known novel Eylandi There, Iceland has lost all contact with the outside world for unknown reasons and throughout history we follow individuals, society and nation develop in that context. In a similar way, students have formed a small community that is brought up in the image of residents in a block and just as in a larger-scale society there are different populations with different needs and knowledge but in the same place with the same limitations. The projects are therefore different in the spirit of the population, but raise numerous questions about what is important, when and for whom.

Opening is at 6 p.m. in Elliðaárstöð and floating tinctures will be available. The exhibition runs on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Students:

Briet Sigtryggsdóttir

Dagbjört Anna Arnarsdóttir

Erla Lind Guðmundsdóttir

Iðunn Lilja Friðriksdóttir

Ingibjörg Athena Stewart

Ísold Hekla Daníelsdóttir Apeland

Jökull Þór Ellertsson

Katla Margrét Jóhannesdóttir

Kjartan Tindur Gunnarsson

Tara Sóley Mobee

Supervising teacher: Rúna Thors

        Facebook event

[116
["post-29217","events","type-events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","departmens_cat-honnunardeild
["GET
