His talk focuses on the mythological American West as viewed and refracted through his own body as queer American. Siegle will discuss his own mixed-media work in relation to other subjects including trash, queering bronze artwork, the Lightning Field, additive sculpture, migratory pathways, public sex sites, the Marlborough Man, kitsch, camp, and desperation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Matt Siegle is a mixed-media artist with an itinerant studio practice. His work examples the intersection of queer bodies and the landscape. Siegle has studied the United States and Europe, including Liste Art Fair Basel (Switzerland), the Getty Institute (Los Angeles), and Artists Space (New York), with coverage by Artforum, The New York Times, Contemporary Art Daily, and Mousse Magazine, among other outlets.
