The park has a close collaboration where human beings and nature come together, work in harmony with each other The visual artists have created works into the local context of the park They reveal what is hidden and take on the roles of visitors and hosts, researcher and research material.

In the pace of the present, the nature of the local environment is overlooked, whether it is grass surfaces driven by, fools growing on street corners or trees by footpaths Plants tend to fall into the environment, unlike birds and bugs that make themselves heard and are constantly moving Even if we notice the plants around us, we don't necessarily know their names, roles or what they can do for us and for them By addressing plant blindness, the artists draw attention away from man and direct her to the vegetation The flora has its own life and its stories to tell.

When plants are thought of as excess-human beings, capable of perception and behavior, they regain their bones For the plants can teach the human being much - the vegetation created the world and conditions for life The roots dictate the nature of the soil, the leaves about the atmosphere and the flowers about reason By identifying the bones of the plants, we are given the opportunity to experience the expression of nature.

The hidden, found beneath the surface, dwells outside the reality that humans can fully understand In the exhibition, the mysterious life of the vegetation is reflected to the surface, where the artists meet the plants of the garden and their knowledge The systems of roots, relationships and collaboration are examined and the visual artists approach the plants as equals.

The joint exhibition Dvelur is an exhibition in Reykjavík Botanical Garden of works by students in the master's program in art at the Iceland University of the Arts. The curators are master's and doctoral students in art studies at the University of Iceland. The exhibition encourages visitors to examine their relationships with nature where they have the opportunity to pause, dive under the surface and possibly learn something from the surrounding vegetation.

When autumn approaches, plants transform. They hibernate, but as spring approaches, life quotes and the end of hibernation draws near. At this time, the garden is a place of rest, reflection and perception, where vegetation and witnesses dwell together. Soon flowers and leaves will reveal themes and greets, bearing witness to what is now hidden the issues and experiences.

The Reykjavík Botanic Garden conservatives plants, some of which are endangered and many of which are generally unknown. In the garden, humans and plants come together and collaborate, working in harmony. Here, the artists have created site-specific works revealing what is hidden and taking on the dual roles of guest and host, researcher and research subject.

In the fast pace of contemporary life, nature is often overlooked -whether it is grass by the roadside, dandelions growing on a street corner, or trees along a sidewalk. Plants fade into the background while birds and bugs make those seen and heard with constant motion Even when we notice plants, we cannot necessarily name them, nor do we know their function, what they can do for us and we for them Addressing this plant blindness, the artists draw attention away from humans and towards the vegetation. The flora has its own stories to tell.

When plants are considered more-than-human, capable of perception and behavior, they claim their agency. Plants have much to teach humans -vegetation created the world and the conditions for life. The roots tell us about the nature of the soil, the leaves about the atmosphere, and the flowers about reason. By recognizing the agency of plants, we are given the opportunity to experience nature's expressions.

The hidden, found beneath the surface, lies beyond a reality that humans are able fully comprehend. In the exhibition, the mysterious life of vegetation is projected on the surface as the artists encounter the plants of the garden and their knowledge. Systems of roots, connections, and collaborations are examined, as the artists approach the plants as equals.

The group exhibition Dwelling at the Reykjavík Botanic Garden features works by students in the MFA program at the Department of Fine Arts at the Iceland University of the Arts. The curators are MA and PhD students in Art Theory at the University of Iceland. The exhibition encourages visitors to example their connection to nature as they are given the opportunity to dwell and linger, delve beneath the surface, and possibly learn something from the surrounding vegetation.

[122

214
post-22135","events","type-events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","departmens_cat-myndlistardeild","events_cat-samsyning-myndlistardeildar
["GET
