She studied violin at Reykjav\u00edk School of Music and Reykjav\u00edk School of Music, from where she graduated with a soloist degree in violin in 2000. In the fall of 2003, she began composition studies at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and graduated in the spring of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in composition and new media. Mar\u00eda has been a member of the band ami for many years, as well as working closely with the band Sigur R\u00f3s. She has performed music with the ami around the world, as well as having participated in the co-creation of works of art across media with different groups of artists. In recent years, Mar\u00eda Huld has written a number of works for bands, chamber groups, choirs and soloists.
