Some spaces don't begin; they continue.

TRANSLATIONS / SUGGESTIONS is an effort to examine the exhibition hall as a space where language is not bound to words, but rather appears as structure, classification, and spatial adaptation.

The exhibition proposes that space is not a neutral container but a process; a translation from one state to another. No original is available. Only versions. Reflections without a model. Repetitions without an origin. No record of the first instance. Only the certainty that a second version will follow.

In space, a sealed door continues to organize movement and pillars brace themselves for a load that is no longer there. Distances are measured. Attention is quietly assigned. Roles are determined.
Here language is approached as a system of expectations; rhythm, space, shift. Meaning resides neither in objects nor in statements; it is created between forms. It is tension, connection, discrepancy. It appears not as a statement but as a distribution.

Space is in translation. The body reads before the brain explains. The brain classifies before the body accepts. Words that are unspoken still shape the mouth. Sounds that are not heard still fill the space. The room translates you as you move through it. Looking is not private.

In this exhibition, space becomes a place of negotiation; between body and language, between perception and structure, between what passes through and what remains. Absence is not a void but the condition where everything meets.

Verk Irene Raven often draws on research into place, as well as the transience and instability of archives. From an interest in systems, memory and classification structures, she examines how materials, stories and meanings emerge, are reassembled or resist preservation. Her recent work examines language beyond words and approaches meaning as a spatial, physical and relational phenomenon. She examines how interpretation is shaped by structure, rhythm, appropriation and absence, and how understanding changes as it moves between bodies, systems and contexts. Through low-key interventions and speculative methods, Irene constructs shifting frames that focus on the physical act of tracing that which is no longer locatable. Her work engages with undefined presences; plants, buildings, objects and linguistic forms on the border of visibility and classification; and evokes alternative ways of perceiving.
