THE ICELANDIC-DANISH MUSIC COMPOSITION PROJECT

Ten students from rhythmic studies at Aarhus University of Music og Faculty of Music, Icelandic University of Iceland have been working on new compositions for string quartet and vocal group in recent months.

The group met in Iceland this week and have been working closely together on rehearsals and the execution of the pieces.

In addition to the ten composers, a string quartet from Aarhus and an Icelandic-Danish singing group led by singers from Ensemble Edge.

The directors are Mathias Skaarup Sørensen together with Jakob Buchanan.

Harvest concerts take place in Háteigskirkja Friday, March 6th at 20:00 PM.
Admission is free and all are welcome.

The project continues in Aarhus in April where the music will be performed again.

Ten students from the rhythmic music programs at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and the Music Department of the Iceland University of the Arts have spent the past months composing new works for string quartet and vocal ensemble.

The group gathered in Iceland this week and has been working closely together on rehearsals and developing the pieces.

In addition to the ten composers, the concert will feature a string quartet from Aarhus and an Icelandic-Danish vocal ensemble led by singers from Ensemble Edge.

The project is led by Mathias Skaarup Sørensen and Jakob Buchanan.

The final concert will take place at Háteigskirkja on Friday, March 6 at 20:00.
Admission is free and everyone is warmly welcome.

The project will continue in Aarhus in April, where the music will be performed again.
