Rósa Ómarsdóttir graduated from the dance school P.A.R.T.S. in Brussel and has been working as a choreographer since then. Her work is very interdisciplinary, mixing together visual arts, music and performance. She was based in Brussels over a decade and has been working all over Europe. Her work has been presented in theatres and festivals internationally and she has been an artist of residence in reputed institutions such as Chaillot Theatre National de la Danse in Paris and Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Her work has received several nominations to the Icelandic Theatre Awards Gríman and have been awarded in the categories Choreographer of the Year and Soundscape of the year. Outside of choreography Rósa has been teaching workshops across Europe and since 2016 she has been conducting the research project Secondhand Knowledge, which has taken place in over ten countries all over the world. Rósa has been involved in different type of activism, she is one of the founders of EngagementArts fighting for gender equality within the arts. Rósa has also written several articles which have been published in magazines in Norway, Germany and Belgium.
