Bryndís is an author, historian and folklorist. She has been teaching and supervising students at the IAA since 2009. Her practice, teaching, and research center around folklore, cultural theory, philosophy, literature and academic and fictional writing. In 2014 she published the young adult book Hafnfirðingabrandarinn, which won both the Icelandic Literary Prize and the Icelandic Women's Literature Prize. Her work has been published widely including in television, journals and translated worldwide.
