Sölvi red ale from Arnar Jónmundsson on Vimeo.

Söl (e. dulse) can be found all around Iceland and may be used in various ways. Sölvi red ale is the first Icelandic beer made from seaweed and it is brewed with dulse and chili. The countless possibilities of using dulse are examined and shown through the development of Sölvi. The ingredients of the beer play an important role in its design: the interplay of colors and shapes. A video shows the making of Sölvi red ale as well as the brewing process – from an idea to a design and a final implementation. In the process there was a special focus on origin, process and specifity of the product.
