Explorations of prints as generators of spatial, material, and tectonic ideas in the creative process

Nicholas Coates is an architect and educator based in Oslo, Norway. Nick holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Master of Architecture from The Oslo School of Architecture. Situated in both practice and academia, Nick works for Rintala Eggertsson Architects in Oslo and teaches in the master program at The Oslo School of Architecture with courses that focus on experimental preservation. Through his role at Rintala Eggertsson, Nick has worked on many design-build projects, crafting architecture through hands-on and participatory workshops. Nick has received numerous awards and honors, including the CAUS Outstanding Alumni Award in 2022, The Renzo Piano World Tour Award in 2020, and the SOM Prize in 2015.
