Third year Contemporary Dance Practice programme students are now rehearsing for their graduation exhibition, which will premiere on May 13th in the Black-box at Iceland University of the Arts in Laugarnes.

Two new dance pieces.
The choreographer Anna Kolfinna Kuran works in collaboration with the group, stage and costume designer Guðný Hrund Sigurðardóttir and Ida Nielsen Juhl, a student in new composition.
Anna Kolfinna works with the sisterhood and initiative of these eight different female dancers in the graduation group:

"The power in them is reflected in the power of nature with all its sources, conflicts, perseverance and cycle. Like magic, the power sets them off on a journey around the stage where they form different landscapes from their bodies. Together they are strong, apart they are unique."

The choreographers Ásgeir Helgi Magnússon and Cameron Corbett take on one of the canon works of art dance history, the Swan Lake, in their installation with the group. With the dancers, they deconstruct this classical ballet and ask:

"Who are these swans? Who are these women on stage? And what is up in this pond?"
