PhD Scholarship FEINART ESR Projects

The research project FEINART (“The Future of European Independent Art Spaces in a Period of Socially Engaged Art“) is an ambitious Innovative Training Network (ITN).

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 860306. The University of Iceland and the Iceland University of the Arts are amongst the participating European universities and cultural institutions.

Socially engaged art aims to create social and political change through forms of interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange between artists, individuals, communities, and institutions; the emphasis being on learning-through-participation and collective research. FEINART is the first major training programme to provide support for the investigation of the prospects and conditions of these kinds of work in Europe today.
