The search for outstanding Icelandic design and architecture projects for the Iceland Design Award 2020 has begun. It is now open for submission, but you can submit your own work or the work of others, the deadline for submissions is on midnight the 21st of September 2020, link here. The award ceremony and a seminar related to the awards are planned to take place on the 5th of November.

 
You can submit works for two categories; The Design of the year 2020 and The Best Design Investment of the year 2020. Submission can come from any field within the design but the winners will have to excel significantly with their project or work In order to receive the Iceland Design Award 2020 designers have to be a member of one of the Iceland Design and Architecture associations or be professionals within their field.
Anyone can submit work, either their own or the work of others, the Iceland Design Awards are a cash prize, amount 1.000.000 ISK, which the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation have
 
The Icelandic Design Award honours the best Icelandic design and architecture annually. The importance of design in our society, culture, and business has been growing steadily, and it is therefore vital to increase the understanding of the good design and highlight the value of quality.
 
The Icelandic Design Award Jury consists of 6 people with excellent knowledge in design and architecture, the decision of the jury should be professional and impartial.
 
These are on the jury:
 
Paul Bennett, Chief Creative Officer at IDEO and the head of the Department of Design at the Iceland University of the Arts, appointed by Iceland Design and Architecture.
 
Sigrún Birgisdóttir, architecture, and professor at the Department of Architecture of the Iceland University of the Arts, appointed by the IUA.
 
Sigríður Sigurjónsdóttir, chairman of the jury. She is the director of the Icelandic Museum of Design and Applied Art, appointed by the Museum of Design and Applied Art.
 
Hörður Lárusson, graphic designer and one of the owners of Kolofon Design Studio. Honorary member of FÍT, a board member of the Iceland Association of Design and Architecture from 2016 – 2019. Appointed by Iceland Design and Architecture.
 
Sigrún Halla Unnarsdóttir, fashion designer, founder and member of IIIF design team, founder of AD and a board member of the LungA school. Sigrún has a MA degree in fashion design. Appointed by Iceland Design and Architecture.
 
Margrét Kristín Sigurðardóttir, PR and Communications Director at the Federation of Icelandic Industries. Appointed by the Federation of Icelandic Industries.
