What do you want to find?
Kolfinna Eyþórsdóttir
Ever since Iceland was first settled, darkness has followed the nation like a phantom. However, in the illuminated age there has been a massive disruption in our cohabitation with darkness. The dark is kept from our locus of experience with artificial lighting and beaming screens that produce constant stimuli in our everyday life.
The world now spins faster than ever before and our perception of the past, present and future becomes more and more unclear. Is it possible for man to take a step back towards the darkness? Can we find a resting place in the void so that we may pause in a reverie, allowing all the phantasms that hide in the dark to cascade over us?
After the reign of darkness, enlightenment appears and conquers the void. The resurrection of deep-seated fears and imaginary apparitions thus becomes but a figment of a far-away past as light engulfs the present, both literally and figuratively.
