Hugarflug is an annual conference on artistic research organized by the Iceland Academy of the Arts and took place for the 6th time in 2017. The conference theme was "memory". More than 50 artist, designers and scholars discussed memory from various perspectives during 16 seminars and an artistic program related to the theme took place on site.

The conference is an important platform for a critical discussion on artistic research and knowledge creation, drawing on a wide array of approaches, methods, subjects and forms of dissemination in this emerging field. One of its core aims is to offer a safe space for open-ended questions, experimental processes and uncertain research results.
