“I want to believe” said Fox Mulder. The work Climax does not ask to be believed by its viewers. The paintings in the installation are only visualizations of well-known narrative structures accompanied by recipes in the form of graphs. This means that the images have no stories to tell, only descriptions of stories. The paintings are therefore aware of their own illusions and can be interpreted in every way imaginable. The satisfactory answer to the question “what do you represent?” might then just be “everything and nothing!”
