Self-appointed victor of natural selection. Ownership as a prize. The man at the top of the man- made hierarchy that derived from the fear of death. The fear of dying, of being forgotten, of leaving nothing behind and everything being for nothing in the end. We search for a purpose, strive to contribute to a better world and, of course, we are capable of that, with an overview of everything from the top, right? In light of the hierarchy; how does man mirror himself in relation to its environment and other species, being only one species and inevitably conditioned as such?
From October 4th to November 29th a series of 24 solo shows by 3rd year students in Fine Art will be taking place in Laugarnes.
Each Thursday, solo exhibitions will be opened at three different locations in Laugarnes: Navel, in the middle of the building, The Cube on 2nd floor and Hulduland which is located on the north side of the building. Openings are from 17:00 - 19:00. The student's solo shows are a part of the seminar Professor's workshops in the supervision of Hekla Dögg Jónsdóttir accompanied by teachers Unnar Örn and Sindri Leifsson.
