María Rún Þrándardóttir will open a solo exhibition in Hulduland at the Department of Fine Art, Laugarnesvegur 91 on 15th of November at 5pm. The exhibition is a part of a series of solo shows by 3rd year students in Fine Art.

All I Write into the Snow

Circle, (C), is a set of  points in plane that are in a given distance from a fixed point, (p). I write it into the snow. Circle’s perimeter is 2r*π but circle’s area is π*r^2. I don’t remember how volume is calculated so I will not write it into the snow. I will not get cold if I continue to move, turn the wheel of labour and write into the snow.

The 6th of October 2018, the United Nations’ report was published. It compared the effect of 1,5°C and 2,0°C increasement in average temperature since the industrial period, regarding ecology, climate and biodiversity on earth. I write it into the snow. I translate selected parts of the report which is intended for someone more powerful than me and write into the snow.

The sun and me and the year 2030: I jot it down and write into the snow. If I write you into the snow, the sun could melt you tomorrow. (C) is all there is and all I write into the snow.

From October 4th to November 29th a series of 24 solo shows by 3rd year students in Fine Art will be taking place in Laugarnes.
