Sneiðmynd | Linda Björg Árnadóttir

Linda Björg Árnadóttir is a textile- and fashion designer and an Assistant professor at the Icelandic University of the Arts. She has worked internationally as a designer and is the creator of the Icelandic design company Scintilla. Linda has been teaching at the Iceland University of the Arts since the beginning, and was the program director of fashion design for a while.

Linda will give a lecture as a part of the lecture series Sneiðmynd, Wednesday the 13^th of November at 12:15. The lecture will be in lecture hall A, Þverholt 11 and will be given in English.

In her lecture Linda will address questions such as: Is fashion culture the product of the urban environment ? Does fashion culture increase if the „audience“ is larger? The lecture aims to shed light on the development of fashion culture in an urban environment and how people use fashion to communicate status and identity. An increased competition between individuals while trying to acquire better opportunities in personal and professional life may be the essential factor in the development of fashion culture.
