On Friday the 31st of January at 1pm an open lecture by The Icelandic Love Corporation will be held at the Iceland University of the Arts, Laugarnesvegur 91.

Eirún Sigurðardóttir (b.1971) and Jóní Jónsdóttir (b.1972) work together as the Icelandic Love Corporation, which was founded in 1996 and is one of Iceland’s most enduring artist groups. A feminist perspective, along with humour and sincerity, characterise the work of the group, whose members work with different media as appropriate to each project. The Icelandic Love Corporation applies technique passed down by grandmothers, craftsmanship and resourcefulness in its works, combined with elegance and modern technology.

The Icelandic Love Corporation has held many individual exhibitions and participated in group shows in museums and galleries around the world, including AroS in Denmark, MoMA in New York, Kunsthalle Wien in Austria, Schirn Kunsthalle and Hamburger Bahnhof in Germany, Amos Anderson in Helsinki and Lilith Performance Studio in Sweden.

The Icelandic Love Corporation worked with singer Björk for her Volta album in 2007, and has worked on a range of projects with artists such as GusGus, Ensemble Adapter, Ragnar Kjartansson and Kiyoshi Yamamoto.

The lecture will be held in Icelandic and is open to all. Facebook event.
