The Happyhour art festival  "Happyhour Fest"  will be held on Thursday 24 March between 5 and 7 pm at the bars Lemmy & Skuggabaldur in the centre of Reykjavík. Four exhibitions are part the festival now being held for the first time. They will all be accessible on the web magazine artzine.is from 5 pm on the opening day onwards.

The festival is a collaboration between Artzine Web magazine and the course Creating & Curating Exhibitions at the IUA‘s Department of Fine Art, where emphasis is placed on digital and relational curating. The exhibitions are the product of students‘ collective approach to curating and their investigations of hybrid exhibition formats. Through these, the web is explored not merely as a tool to replicate existing practices, but rather as a site of convergence of rapidly changing practices and approaches; new ways of curating, of creative collaborations, investigations, expressions and dialogue.

Eleven curators and four artists. The topics touch landscapes and bodies, how art converges with technology and virtual reality affects perception and self-awareness.  Side by side we ponder plant life, 3D printing, classifications of artistic media, and eusocial insects of the order Hymenoptera.

The exhibitions are the following:
