Technology as a Raw Material

Sarit Youdelevich is a designer, design-researcher and a lecturer at Bezalel, Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem. Sarit is visiting the Department of Design and Architecture at the Iceland University of the Arts through Erasmus+ and will be giving a lecture at the Department of Design and Architecture, Tuesday the 10th of September at 12:15 in lecture hall A. 
 
Her work and practice specialise in interactivity and the connection between digital technology and design. She holds a Master from ITP (Interactive Telecommunication Program) at NYU and previously worked in the Israeli Hi-Tech industry. Applying multidisciplinary approach, Sarit aims to develop Making-Thinking, teach and provide designers and artists skills and techniques to Make.
 
Sarit will share her story as a “bilingual” in the design industry: the way she practices technology as a raw material and as a tool for self-expression and what does it mean to teach digital technology as a language.
 
Gestagangur is intended to provide an insight into some interesting projects and research in design and architecture. The lecturers are all part-time tutors or visiting tutors from abroad at the Faculty of Design and Architecture. They have all attracted attention for specific projects in the field of design or architecture, and have achieved international recognition for their work.
