Wherever the wind blows
Sara Björk Hauksdóttir

The exhibition ,,Wherever the wind blows" opens in Kubburinn, Laugarnesvegi 91- September 30th at 5-7 PM.

In Sara Björk Hauksdóttir's exhibition, Wherever the wind blows, Sara focuses on change. With the wind as a collaborator the mundane environment is viewed through the eyes of mindfulness. Changes occur in different ways. Some, such as the retreat of glaciers or the evaporation of lakes, happen slower than can be perceived by the human eye. The wind, on the other hand, does not hide its movements. They are easily seen. Most of them are mundane, and as a result, they disappear from our sight like the slow changes of nature. We don’t pay attention to them. The wind’s movements are playful. It grabs our hair and caresses the softness of nature, like a parent who gently touches a child's hair. It dances with nature's vegetation and touches everything it passes. Its force forms shapes from the material it finds. Forms of material it moves around - and the void it leaves behind. We do not control the wind. With the wind on our back, we have the opportunity to surrender and drift along -wherever the wind blows.
