End of an Era, a graduation work for students at Contemporary Dance Practices Programme at the IUA.

They are meant to dance together.

The Graduation show marks both a beginning and an end. The show is kind of like a rite of passage where the students dance an end to a three year long era and travel into a new era as professional dancers. Here they say goodbye to the past and celebrate things to come. One thing has led to another, one movement has become another, one wawe became anothe wawe and at last created a tsunami that again changes.

The work is inspired by how dance has, through the ages brought people together. Dance ceremonies connect hearts, souls, bodys and creates empahty and closenes for those who particiapte. This started as an research of chains; chainreaction and how you cal build up and break down circles and flows of beginnings and ends to create a dance for the unknown future.
