"Fulfilment to a turbulent mind"
Can Transcendental Meditation enhance creativity?

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether Maharishi's Vedic Science and its practical aspect, the Transcendental Meditation Technique and TM-Sidhi program, is a viable means of fulfilling the aim of creativity in education. For that purpose, I explore the aims of creativity in the National Curriculum Guide and what its theoretical discourse regarding creativity is based on, especially regarding ideas found there about the self, self-development and individual creativity versus creativity in nature.
Research studies on the effects of Maharishi's Vedic Science and its practical aspect on creativity are introduced to explain the possibility of developing the creative mental potential of the individual by providing him with the experience of the source of all creativity: the least exited state of consciousness.
My conclusion is that Maharishi's Vedic Science is not only a viable means of increasing creativity but also a means for developing the full mental potential of the individual and raise the level of collective consciousness in society. Finally, I discuss the possible implication of this conclusion on art and art education.
