Anyone who uses IUA Library materials must make sure to respect copyright law. This applies to all library materials, regardless of their form or origin.

The IUA is partner to a contract with Fjölís, the association of copyright holders in Iceland. According to this contract, teachers and students can:

 

Copy up to 20% of a book, although never more than 30 pages at a time, for personal use.

Copy an article from a magazine or a full chapter from a book, for personal use.

Copy no more than two articles from the same issue of a journal or magazine.

Distributing or saving copied materials for use by others is prohibited.
