The web publication ÞRÐÐIR is published by the music department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts and has the role of creating a platform, restraint and incentive for any kind of research work related to music inside and outside the school.

Emphasis will be placed on an open platform, ie there will be a lot of flexibility regarding the types of texts that the magazine contains. Short and long articles/texts will be accepted from various perspectives (theoretical, aesthetic, reflections, declarations (manifesto), artistic approaches/methods, reflections, evaluations, etc.).

You can also make suggestions regarding types of texts. Texts, not articles, will be called for to emphasize the journal's diversity.

Work is underway to move previous issues of Þraði to the new LHÍ website. In the meantime, they will be accessible here.

The website strives to be a platform for:

  • A discourse on music in the Icelandic language
  • Communication of knowledge
  • Preservation of research

With the website, we want to increase the activity of research in the field of music, create new opportunities and incentives, and be a center of perspectives within music.
