Open fibre-processing

The project focuses on making an open-source tool for processing plant fibres. The aim is to develop a platform for people from different backgrounds to create things out of plants, for example 3D objects, paper and fibreboards. Drawings and other information related to the tool are made available online, in the hope of forming a community around the project where people keep evolving the tool and the processes associated with it.

Tools that designers and craftsmen use nowadays are often open-source, for example 3D printers and CNC routers. Open-source tools have unfolded many possibilities in creation, as well as opening a discussion about underutilized resources.
