SAMBÚÐ // Opnun á sýningu á verkum 1.árs nema í arkitektúr

Nemendur á fyrsta ári í arkitektúr við LHÍ bjóða ykkur hjartanlega velkomin á sýninguna “Sambúð” sem er afrakstur vinnustofunnar Hús númer 1 á vorönn 2024. Lóðin sem er til umfjöllunar er á horni Klapparstígs og Grettisgötu. Nemendur fjalla um sambúð fólks frá mismunandi menningarheimum sem leggja sitt af mörkum til iðandi mannslífs miðbæjar Reykjavíkur.

Leiðbeinendur eru arkitektarnir Hjördís Sóley Sigurðardóttir og Hrólfur Karl Cela.

Sahar Ghaderi // Sneiðmynd // Digital Reconstruction of Architectural Heritage, from Bam Citadel to Notre Dame Cathedral

This lecture questions the use and practice of infographic restitutions in the field of built-up materials vestiges. Virtual reality, Augmented and Extended Reality have been an important foundation in research and scientific experimentation. In the context of post disaster modelization, I will talk about my experience in Bam's digital reconstruction and discuss the most recent works of Notre Dame Cathedral´s restoration.

Tong Ma // Lecture series

Tong Ma holds a Ph.D. and is a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Beijing University of Technology. Tong is currently a visiting scholar at the Iceland University of the Arts for this semester. He earned his M. Arch degree from UCL in 2011 and subsequently worked as a project architect and project manager at three design firms in Shanghai and Beijing for five years. After receiving his Ph.D. degree from Tianjin University in 2021, he has been teaching and conducting research in architecture and urban design.

Gestagangur // Daniel Zarem // Realizing Products Through Design

Personal design journey shown through past projects, problem solving through a user centric lens, using manufacturing techniques to bring design solutions from concept to the hands of users.

Daniel Zarem is an industrial design lead at focusing on prosthetics at Össur. Previously working at Fuseproject, he developed his passion for bringing first-of-their-kind ideas to life through user centric design, new technologies, and clever manufacturing solutions.

IMAGE-MAKING AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA

An exhibition showcasing work from a short two week intensive course introducing students to the hackspace and support options available downstairs in the workshops. 
 
This course enables 1st year graphic design students to experiment with new technologies and explore how they relate to the field of visual communication. 
 
Hardware and software utilised include :
  • VR / AR using Blender and SparkAR
  • Gesture control using TouchDesigner / P5.js
  • 3D scanning / 3D printing
