Föstudaginn 18. nóvember kl. 13 mun David Horvitz halda opinn fyrirlestur um verk sín og vinnuaðferðir í fyrirlestrarsal myndlistardeildar að Laugarnesvegi 91.

Hann hefur auk þess tekið þátt í Frieze Projects fyrr á þessu ári, auk þess sem hann stofnaði Procino galleríið árið 2013 í Berlín.

On Friday the 18th of November at 13:00 an open lecture by David Horvitz will be held at the department of fine art, Laugarnesvegur 91.
He will discuss his practice through a church bell as a central theme as well as local traditions and sense of time. David will exhibit his work Let us keep our own noon at Sequences 10 year anniversary on Saturday, November 19th. It consists of forty-seven handbells created through the remelting of a French church bell dating back to 1742. The work is activated by performers who ring the bells at local noon.
David Horvitz (b. 1982) lives and works in Los Angeles. Recent solo shows include: ‘ja’ at Chert, Berlin, and ‘oui’ at Yvon Lambert Bookshop, Paris, 2016; ‘Situation #20’, Fotomuseum Winterthur, 2015; ‘through the morning) kiss this pillow’, T25, Ingolstadt, 2015; ‘David Horvitz’, Blum & Poe, Los Angeles, 2014; ‘Gnomons’ New Museum, 2014; concurrent shows at Jan Mot, Brussels, and Dawid Radziszewski Gallery, Warsaw, 2014; Statements, Art Basel, 2013; ‘POST’, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, 2013; ‘At Night They Leave Their Century’, Chert, Berlin, 2013. He has realized projects for Frieze Projects 2016 and in 2013, he founded Porcino gallery in Berlin.
The Open Noon lectures at the IAA are free of charge and open to all. The lecture will be held in English.
