Learning outcomes

Knowledge

By the end of their studies, the student possesses knowledge in the field of contemporary performing arts.
This means that the student should:
  • Possess broad knowledge of the contemporary performing arts and its related topics and fields of concern.
  • Have acquired knowledge through their artistic research, process, and production.
  • Be able to place their knowledge and research in artistic, social and political contexts.
  • Be able to provide arguments for their own findings.
  • Be familiar with the research methods and ethics within the field of performing arts.

Skills 

By the end of their studies, the student can apply the methods and procedures of contemporary performing arts.
This entails that the student should: 

  • Have adopted relevant methods in their artistic process.
  • Be capable of analysing, evaluating, and mediating their research findings.
  • Be able to engage with complex subjects within the field of performing arts.
  • Be able to use their knowledge in their artistic and professional work.
  • Be able to use relevant methods and techniques in their artistic research.
  • Show innovation in developing and applying ideas.
  • Be able to use their knowledge and understanding to move within unfamiliar situations.
  • Be able to develop their research methods.
  • Be able to understand, read and analyse artistic works, including their own.

Competences

By the end of their studies, the student can apply their knowledge and skills in a practical way in the contemporary performing arts and/or further studies.
This entails that the student should:

  • Have developed the necessary skills and independence to take on further studies and/or work professionally in the field.
  • Be able to initiate and lead projects within the performing arts.
  • Be able to share their topics, challenges, and findings in a professional context, for scholars and general audience.
  • Be capable of presenting their artistic work in English.
  • Be able to make decisions in an independent, professional manner and support them with arguments.
  • Have critical awareness and be capable of using critical discussion in their creative work.
  • Be capable of operating in the international professional environment of the performing arts.
