Product design entails the design of prototypes for industrial production or in limited number. Prototypes are produced using traditional materials such as ceramics, wood, metals and plaster, or new materials such as plastics and new metals. With a BA degree in product design, students can elect to enter the job market, working in companies or design studios, or to continue their studies abroad enabling them to increase specialization in fields such as textiles, costume design, fashion design, automotive design, product or industrial design.
