On Friday, March 9th at 2:30 pm the American opera singer/voice teacher will give a masterclass for the vocal students of the Music Department of Iceland University of the Arts (IUA) at Skipholt 31, 105 Reykjavík. Free entrance and everybody is welcome to join the audience. 

Roberta Cunningham  has lived and performend in Germany for over 25 years. After attending Carnegie Mellon University (B.A. in Voice, B.A. in Education and M.A. in Opera Performance), she continued her education at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Austria and at the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover. Her first engagement at the Kammeroper in Vienna was followed by engagements in Hildesheim, Münster and Rudolstadt. She has sung well over thirty roles on stages from Leipzig to Cairo and can be heard on several CD´s. In 1997 she joined the Ensemble of the Disney Production of “Beauty and the Beast” in Stuttgart, Germany, and in it’s third season she became the first cast Mrs. Potts. She has been on the faculty on AIMS teaching the auditions training program, as well as being one of the Voice Teachers for the Ensemble of “Beauty and the Beast” , and later at “Lion King” in Hamburg; has held Master classes with Alma Thomas in Washington D.C. and New York City, and in Germany, in Aschaffenburg, Meppen, Stuttgart, Berlin und Münster and Heidelberg.  With Neil Semer she started a summer “Vocal Seminar” in Coesfeld (NRW NSVI) which has grown into 2, two week seminars (now also in Aub, Bavaria) every summer since 1997.  Since 1999 she has lived in Berlin and her home studio is located there. She teaches privately in Münster, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Hildesheim, Hamburg, Vienna, Paris and London.
